WAEC GCE 2026 registration has started – This is to inform the general public and intending candidates that registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates 2026 – First Series has commenced. Registration for the exam now costs N27,000. Registration ends at 23:59 Friday, January 30, 2026. Please read the entire content of this page carefully to register for 2026 GCE.

REGISTRATION FOR THE EXAMINATION:
Registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2026-First Series will be online. After the registration PIN, candidates must log on to www.waeconline.org.ng to register. Candidates should also note that the registration process is designed to accommodate biometric features that will be used for verification at the exam centers.

Candidates are also informed that all WAEC past questions, both objective and theory, along with their solutions and answers are now available online. Note that this is the first time WAEC is using CBT. By using Myschool WAEC CBT software or Myschool WAEC CBT Mobile, candidates will have a great time preparing for the exam. This will help the candidates to familiarize themselves with the CBT environment and cover WAEC past questions as well.

Registration period:

Regular registration closes on Friday, January 30, 2026.

METHOD OF PAYMENT:

Candidates are expected to pay the registration fee Twenty seven thousand Naira (N27,000) onlyin the branches of one of the following banks or any accredited agent and get the registration PIN and VCD information:

Candidates:

Candidates who wish to register for the examination after the papers have been completed may be accommodated as ‘Candidates’ provided they register at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled time of writing their paper(s). Fee is “Candidates”. Forty five thousand Naira (N45,000.00) only.

SPECIAL CANDIDATES:

Candidates with special needs will also register online like other candidates but they must clearly state their disabilities, such as visual impairment, low vision, spasticity, speech, hearing impairment, etc.

WHERE TO GET A RIDE

Candidates can visit the nearest accredited banks, cyber cafes, WAEC offices and “WAEC Registration Points” to purchase a PIN and register.

Complete registration:

Candidates MUST register within two weeks of first accessing the website during the registration period. They must ensure that their name, gender, passport photos, date of birth and subject are correct. They should also print the Admit Card as proof of successful registration which will serve as an identity during the exam. The result verification PIN will also be placed on the Admission Notice. GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • The exam will be a computer based test. The objective papers will be full CBT while the essay and practical exam will be a hybrid exam where the questions will be displayed on the screen and candidates will write their answers in the answer booklets.. We advise candidates to prepare for the exam using Myschool WAEC CBT or Myschool WAEC CBT Mobile software. This will help the candidates to familiarize themselves with the CBT environment and cover WAEC past questions as well.
  • Online Mock Exam is conducted for interested candidates who have registered for the exam and want to familiarize themselves with the test environment. date and methods of examination will be communicated to the candidates through SMS, email and all social media platforms.
  • Candidates should note that the registration fee is non-refundable.
  • -Candidates should keep checking the website for the exam schedule
  • – Entries must be uploaded with passport photos taken with a digital camera. Specifications Digital photography must be Microsoft HD 3000. Passport photos must be of good quality BLACK AND WHITE OR COLOR (JPEG file only, 275 x 314 pixels with a resolution of 72 dbi) and a contrasting background. Shouldn’t be disturbing objects.   • – Candidates should study the Rules and Syllabus for the examination which they can download from the WAEC website (www.waeconline.org.ng) using their registration PIN
  • -Applicants must go to the exams in mufti and without weapons. Professional clothing of any kind is prohibited in the examination halls
  • – All the results of applicants who sit for the exam in more than one center will be canceled
  • – Smoking is prohibited in the examination hall
  • -Any candidate entering the examination hall with mobile phone(s) and/or any other electronic gadget(s) will have their full results cancelled.
  • Candidates should ensure that their entries are completed correctly before uploading as the Council is not responsible for any errors in the candidate’s information. Requests for changes to any information voluntarily provided by the candidate at the time of registration will not be accepted.
  • -Candidates must enter the examination hall with their original document
  • -Candidates who commit malpractices in the examination will not only have their results canceled but may also be prosecuted.
  • – Candidates must ensure that they provide correct email and phone number during registration
